For nearly two decades, Karen has developed award-winning copy and cost-effectively managed editorial and marketing programs for an impressive roster of full-time employers and freelance clients that include CMP Media’s VARBusiness magazine, computer products distributor Ingram Micro Inc., The Practice Builder Advertising Agency, Schmidt-Cannon Inc., KFWB news radio, and Blackford & Associates.
Karen has extensive experience in crafting every type of written communication, including articles for magazines, newspapers and in-house publications; conducting and relaying focus group content; translating complicated analyst reports and white papers into plain, usable English; co-writing/ghost writing articles; writing advertising/marketing copy for print and broadcast use; writing PR-oriented copy; and managing large, long-term editorial projects from start to finish.
Karen is a top-rated speaker, has been listed in “Who’s Who in Professional And Executive Women” and “Who’s Who In Advertising,” and has been a co-recipient of the Jesse H. Neal Editorial Achievement Award, five Western Publisher’s Association Maggie Awards, and broadcast journalism’s coveted “Golden Mike.”
In addition to her expertise in journalism and advertising/marketing, Karen also holds a Master’s degree in psychology, giving her insight into the human psyche that most editors, marketers and PR professionals can only dream of having.
